The game takes inspiration from and in some places parodies Grand Theft Auto III, and thus presents the player with a completely modeled town of Springfield with all its nooks and crannies and famous places. The player can freely move around the town, divided into three parts, on his own feet and with vehicles.

Strange events begin to happen in Springfield. Strange robot wasps with cameras fly around the city, unknown black vans with an inconspicuous satellite on the roof stand in the streets, and "Buzz Cola" suddenly begins to control the minds of some citizens... Of course, the Simpson family will not leave it alone and you will gradually take on the role of each member of the family, i.e. Homer, Marge, Bart and Liza. Little Maggie was unfortunately forgotten in playable form. In her place, the fifth playable character is Apu Nahasapeemapetilon from Kwiky-Mart.

The game is divided into seven chapters, which are composed of several missions, the fulfillment of which always moves the story forward. The main character changes in each chapter and the town changes slightly in each chapter as well. The player cannot die in the game, but when hit, he only loses the collected gold coins, which are used to buy new vehicles and clothes. For running over pedestrians or hitting them (no one can die and, of course, no blood flows), the so-called "Hit & Run" indicator rises, after which Sheriff Wiggum and his unit will attack you. You don't even steal vehicles, you just sit next to someone and force them to drive you to your chosen location.

Virtually all characters from the series will appear in the game, even if their role in the series was the smallest. The game is also literally stuffed with countless allusions and references from most episodes of the series. You can also search for several different collectibles throughout the game, including Itchy and Scratchy cards. All characters were voiced by the same dubbers as the series original.
